Vandevorst autumn/winter 2011 inspiration: Whilst curating their concept pop-up store in Knokke, An Vandevorst, and Filip Arickx discovered two dutch artists, Maarten Kolk and Guus Kusters, whose work brings together the two common worlds of nature, and textile. Materialising the beauty, shape, and language of form seen in animals, the artists mould on the animal itself, allowing only the claws of the feet to remain seen, using materials including fur, felt, and paper which have become synonymous with the world of A.F. Vandevorst.
