This week has been somewhat overshadowed by Blue Monday, the day that the media have proclaimed to be the most depressing of the year. But over on the @anotherloves feed, spirits have remained high, aided by a Karl Lagerfeld-shaped candle and a Damien Hirst dose of Prozac.

Hirst teamed up with fine jewellers Hoorsenbuhs to produce his limited edition, ruby and white and black diamond-embellished ring, sporting golden pills of varying shapes and sizes. As Lover Olivia Singer notes, "What could possibly be more glorious than a Damien Hirst-designed pill of Prozac containing tiny white diamonds? It's one of those pieces that makes me think maybe money can buy (18 carat, slightly sedated) happiness."

German stationery shop Luiban is a veritable hub of chic desk adornments, as exemplified by this reconstituted brass sellotape dispenser, Loved by Laura Bradley. "I'm obsessed with keeping my desk tidy and try to edit as often and vigorously as possible," Bradley explains. "This tape dispenser is beautiful and practical and would definitely make the cut."

This week, the anothermag.com team launched the first episode of our new column, Emerging Talent – profiling fashion's most exciting new designers. To kickstart the series, writer Osman Ahmed visited the studio of Poland-born, London-based designer Marta Jakubowski, who is taking the fashion world by storm with her subverted brand of simplicity – perfectly demonstrated by this covetable, pinstripe jumpsuit from her S/S16 collection.

French architect and designer Hervé Langlais has been creating elegantly modern spaces and furnishings for over 20 years, his output ranging from designs for the Beijing Opera to bespoke pieces for boutique hotels. Team AnOther are big fans of pink interiors and this suite by Langlais for Galerie Negropontes, Loved by AnOther's assistant producer Beth Mingay, proved irresistible. "This beautiful set is minimal in its design, but the softly varying shades of pink make a quiet but powerful statement."

Like many of life's more frivolous purchases, we didn't know we needed one until we saw it – a gleefully characterful Karl Lagerfeld candle bearing the signature trademarks of its idiosyncratic creator. Made in collaboration with Welton London and fragranced with a heady blend of spices, its scent lives up to its appearance.
