Fashionable felines and the female form take centre stage in this week's edit of inspiring objects from @anotherloves

January is in full swing, and the New Year has brought with it a plethora of desirable objects both old and new courtesy of the @anotherloves Instagram feed. Here, we select five of our favourites for your browsing delectation, and ask each Lover how and why their heart was stolen.

Miu Miu and cats go together like coffee and cream – think the captivating kitten print that punctuated the S/S14 collection, the brand's ever-popular variations on cat-eye glasses, the kitten that stars alongside Stacy Martin in their fragrance campaign and the playfully prowling feline that wended its way through the S/S10 collection, its upright tail following suit. It is this print that returns to enliven a covetable pair of (aptly kitten-heeled) Texas booties from the Resort 2016 collection, Loved by anothermag.com fashion features editor Olivia Singer. "As a devoted cat lady, when Miu Miu revived their cat print for Resort 2016, all my dreams came true," Singer explains. "And now my beloved clogs from S/S10 can have a rainproof equivalent."

Founded in 2010, Brooklyn design studio Cold Picnic "explore traditional crafts filtered through modern sensibilities." Their series of 'Private Parts' picnic rugs – a graphic tribute to the female form that is joyfully reminiscent of the work of illustrator Saul Steinberg – has garnered much acclaim, as well as capturing the imagination of AnOther's photographic editor Holly Hay. "Someone commented under the picture on my Instagram: 'The secret language of Azilal rugs deems that the pattern and symbolism in the rug is the voice and expression of the weaver – and usually tells a rich story of her life and what is happening to her during that time.'" Hay tells us. "An intriguing thought, which makes me LOVE this even more!"

From the age of six, Salvador Dalí dreamt of becoming a chef. But it wasn't until he reached his 60s that the famed Surrealist pursued this ambition, publishing his own cookery book Les Diners de Gala in 1973. Erotically illustrated, and with ingredients ranging from eel to peacock, it is just as unique as the man himself. This New Year's Eve, Patternity's Carmen de Baets put the book to the test, Loving it along the way. "My boyfriend and Dali have a lot in common," she expands. "They both have a flair for fantasizing and dreamed of becoming chefs. So, I made it my mission to track down an affordable copy of the wonderfully imaginative book for Christmas. None of the recipes are really edible but they're an inspiration all the same, and we ended up letting our wildest imaginations run free and hosting a Surrealist themed fete to hail in 2016!" [A re-edition of the book will be released in March – stay tuned for more information.]

"Everyone's feeling the January blues at the moment, but there's nothing like the prospect of a beautiful new piece of Céline jewellery to cheer you up," explains AnOther fashion coordinator Chloe Grace Press, and we couldn't have put it better ourselves. Add into the mix a bold brass chain and wide-eyed patchwork face pendant, and you're left with the ideal spring accessory.

This year Hermès has partnered with wild cat conservation organisation Panthera to help raise awareness of endangered feline species, including the sponsorship of an exhibition of 'big cat' drawings by wildlife artist Robert Dallet (opening this Sunday). It's a happy coincidence, then, that Kate Brindley came across this "glorious vintage Hermès ashtray while trawling through eBay" over the holidays, feeling obliged to share it with @anotherloves. "It's practically irresistible, what's not to Love?"
