Who? Petersham Nurseries, owned by garden-loving Gael & Francesco Boglione, is set at the foot of their home, Petersham House, at the base of Richmond Hill. Specialising in the English gardening tradition, Petersham Nurseries offers a selection of plants, cut flowers, tools and antiques as well as its Michelin star awarded café-restaurant headed by chef Skye Gyngell. It is firm favourite with locals, including fashion photographer Nick Knight.

What? Following a successful temporary residency in Dover Street Market last year, Petersham Nurseries is currently occupying a corner of Selfridges Lower Ground floor. The shop is stocking a handpicked selection of the Nurseries' best bits – garden tools, glass bell jars, organic household products, Ilse Jacobsen Wellington Boots, antique cabinets and metal garden tables.

Why? The Nurseries are expert selectors of genuine, quality product and understand the importance of knowledgeable staff and these are both carried through to the space in Selfridges. If you're yet to visit the Richmond site (and witness is beautiful conservatory), the Selfridges pop-up is a fitting introduction. Plus, it's Mother's Day this coming Sunday.

The Petersham Nurseries shop at Selfridges, Oxford Street runs until July 2011.
