Who? Italian knitwear brand Aimo Richly's A/W 11 collection for men and women, designed by Alberto Incanuti.

What? Based on emotions that are heavily influenced by images, sounds and visual arts, the sumptuous men's and women's collection is due to hit stores in June and July respectively. The designs, including a knitted kimono, utilise natural yarns such as baby alpaca, angora, mohair, extra-fine merino coupled with super-thick and extra fine stitched details, in a palette of greys, peacock blue and mauve. Extensive research was also carried out into new yarns and stitching techniques by Aliz Opere Tessili to enable knitting patterns to be turned into fur.

Why? The year ahead is heavy with reasons to prioritise knitwear. Opening on 16 March, Unravel at Antwerp's Fashion Museum will celebrate the richness and diversity of knitwear in fashion, and features Tilda Swinton wearing Sandra Backlund from AnOther Magazine's Spring/Summer 2009 issue.
