There was an autumnal feel in the air at Marc by Marc Jacobs and Diesel Black Gold on day 6 of New York Fashion week. Both A/W11 collections offered up deep hues of burnt orange, sludgy greens and dark chesnut. Marc Jacobs dressed his models in distinctly seventies themed outfits – wide legged trousers, midi-length and A line skirts, swing coats, fedoras and oversized sunglasses. Particular favourites include his gold leather skirts and retro-inspired accessories. Over at Diesel Black Gold there was a definite rock ‘n’ roll vibe going on as kohl-rimmed and shaggy haired models showed off Sophia Kokosalaki’s assortment of military-inspired jackets, laced-up leathers and python printed leather pants. Edgy and cool, models strutted their stuff with attitude – something intrinsic to the Diesel brand.
