With wearers that include Johnny Depp, Andy Warhol, Woody Allen, Moby, John Lennon, Buddy Holly and Truman Capote, to name but a few, it is no wonder that AnOther Photographic Director, Christina Hardy’s MOSCOT Vintage Glasses were the most loved product this week on AnOther’s Loves. Renowned worldwide for its iconic eyewear, MOSCOT has established itself as the go-to global lifestyle brand for stylish, timeless glasses. One of the oldest optical shops in New York, MOSCOT was founded by great grandfather and patriarch Hyman Moscot, who arrived from Eastern Europe via Ellis Island in 1899, and began selling ready-made eyeglasses from a pushcart on Orchard Street, in Manhattan’s famed Lower East Side. 112 years later the fourth generation of Moscot siblings are continuing to sell MOSCOT classics as well as Originals with a modern styling twist, from their two downtown stores as well as globally — other retailers include Colette, Corso Como and Liberty.

Here we speak to MOSCOT Lover, enthusiast and wearer Hardy about all things optical.

What made you choose Moscot Vintage Glasses?
I never really enjoyed wearing sunglasses. Most brands don't make small enough frames so when I try them on I feel like an insect or an Olsen twin. Also many of the luxury brands I love show their logo and that feels too flashy for my taste. Moscots are different in that sense as they're made well and are just super classic. They're the only brand that feel custom-made for my face.

How do you wear yours?
Daily.

What were your first pair of glasses?
A vintage pair of black and clear plastic Lemtosh Moscots from Screaming Mimi's in the East Village. Now I wear the same frames in a light Tortoise.

Who’s you’re favourite glasses wearer and why?
Can I say Johnny Depp without sounding like I'm getting some kind of kick back from Moscot? Like most sensible women I have had a crush on him since 21 Jump Street and he looks incredible in glasses. He is a Moscot loyal as well.

What would your dream purchase be?
My dream purchase is to buy a house in Italy on the beach. Product wise I'd love the thin leather black Céline shopping tote that I can use everyday for work.

What was the last thing you bought?
A flat white coffee from ground patrol in Soho. Product wise a bright purple cashmere sweater. Both are awesome.

What’s your favourite online shop?
I'm a need to touch it consumer so I don't really shop online. I definitely get sucked into searching eBay though.
