Who? Collier Schorr.

What? A continued photographic exploration into daily life in the small German Town, Schwäbisch Gmünd, as observed by an outsider.

Why? The renowned New York photographer who shot the A/W collections in “Clan” for the current issue of AnOther Man, has been working in Southern Germany for the past 18 years since she first began her Forest and Fields series. Compiling a documentary and fictional portrait of a small town inhabited by historical apparitions, Schorr maps her own past – both imagined and inherited – interweaving stories with themes of national representation, émigré family life and nostalgia.

Where? Journals & Notebooks runs until 4 December at the 303 Gallery, New York.
