Over the top, decadent and anything but minimal, Louis Vuitton’s S/S11 show was a celebration of excess and campness. On each of the show’s seats was a sheet of paper that read: "The relation between boredom and camp taste cannot be overestimated," a quote from a famous Susan Sontag essay. The interior design represented what was to follow: a faux marble catwalk, gold and black fringed curtains and taxidermied tigers. The clothes themselves were equally rich in colour and fabric with heavy fringing, lurex, sequins and even a LV monogram lace skirt with matching fan. And who better to wear the overindulgent and statement collection than some of the greatest models, young and old: Freja Beha Erichsen, Lindsey Wixon, Karlie Kloss, Alek Wek, Jamie Bochert, Christina Kruse and Kristen McMenamy.
