Day 1: Wednesday September 22
Gucci kicks off the week with colours, fringing and the bold style Italians are famous for, marking more than the three bright shows required to make a trend. What was that about camel?

– The Wintour-hosted “A New Generation of Designers” (quickly becoming a strong contender in the handful of initiatives for young createurs) presented the award to Erkan Coruh, the Istanbul designer who balances references to his homeland with a luxurious and avant-garde feel.

– Erkan is amongst the lucky young Milanese designers hand-picked by Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce to sell in their newest venture Spiga 2, a shop dedicated to those they think could be the duo’s successors.

Day 2: Thursday September 23
–  “I’m going bananas” Josephine Baker, Cuba and the yellow fruit were amongst the inspirations for Prada’s sensational Spring 11 delivery.

– Mark Fast presented his collaboration with Italian high street giant Pinko – a futuristic offering.

– Floral fantasy at D&G, enjoy the green set (and fresh clothes) here.

Day 3: Friday September 24
– Milan has got to be the winner in the online show streaming category so far. Versace presented more of the stripes, punchy colours and whites that are defining the season and we were able to enjoy it in all its glory from our desks.

– The house of Medusa also hosted the biggest party of the evening. At the Versace palazzo Hercules and the Love Affair performed in a tented venue after the Milanese skies opened up for the fashion crowd earlier that day. January Jones, Christopher Kane, Pat McGrath and Donatella of course were all in attendance.

Day 4: Saturday September 25
– Flowers, stripes, colour! It seems the fashion gods are in concordance this season and they were present at Jil Sander too, where Raf Simons played with proportions and the thin (or in this case voluminous) lines between elegant and casual.

Day 5: Sunday September 26
- The famous pack of vamps (which included Victoria’s Secret bombshells Alessandra Ambrosio and Ana Beatriz Barros this season) at Dolce & Gabbana were in pristine white mode, with a few crystals thrown in for good measure.

Salvatore Ferragamo hosted an evening with high wattage; Claudia Schiffer, Margherita Missoni and Jada Pinkett Smith were all present at the Palazzo Mezzanotte, with music spun by famous off-spring Lola Schnabel and Julio Santo Domingo.

Marni was a tribal, colourful, youth inspired trip to lively far away lands. Zest aplenty.

Day 6: Monday September 27
Roberto Cavalli marked his 40th anniversary with a celebration of all things the brand is known for. Fringing, prints, flowing dresses and molto sexy attitude. Have a look at the big names front row on Roberto’s blog!

Giorgio Armani was feeling blue. His spring/summer collection titled la femme en bleu was a walk through the desert with turbans, flat shoes and plenty of sky-coloured fabrics.

– After two seasons of presentations Christopher Kane had his first runway show for Versus. But the designer isn’t yet ready to leave the playground quite literally, as a grown-up kiddy playpen served as the set for his tiny floral and tartan collection for Versace’s younger (but just as playful) sister.
