Former commissioning editor of AnOther Man, Ned Beauman, celebrates the launch of his debut novel Boxer, Beetle about a gay, Jewish boxer living in London during the 1930s. A phenomenal achievement for the 25-year-old author, the launch will be held in a boxing club (where else?!).

From Wednesday acclaimed jewellery designer Dominic Jones will display his new installation and T-shirt collection at Machine-A. Inspired by the work of the World Land Trust, the window display will be on show throughout August and 50% of the price of the T-shirts will be donated to the trust.

Saturday August 7 – ArtNight at the 18th Street Art Centre, Los Angeles
18th Street Art Centre promotes dialogue through contemporary art, inspiring creative discussion and supporting artistic projects. This Saturday in LA they bring together a variety of musicians and artists for a night of songs, art, food and drink.

Monday August 9 – Rankin, Painting Pretty Pictures at Annroy Gallery, Kentish Town.
Rankin puts his latest work on show at his gallery in North London. The images feature models including Lily Cole, Heidi Klum and Yasmin Le Bon, altered to appear like oil paintings. The show runs throughout August.

Monday August 9 – Have You Ever Really Looked at the Sun? at Haunch of Venison, Berlin.
Last chance to catch this wonderful show at the Haunch of Venison’s German abode featuring a dual effort from Damien Hirst and Michael Joo. Close friends since meeting in Cologne in the early 1990s, this collaborative exhibition features sculptures, installations and paintings from the pair.
