This week’s AnOther Loves guest editor is menswear designer Kim Jones. Since he presented his first collection at London Fashion Week in September 2003, Kim has become creative director at Dunhill in addition to receiving critical acclaim for his own line. He has also designed several collections for Umbro, delving into youth movements and sportswear culture for inspiration for his incredibly commercially successful designs. As guest Loves editor, Kim loved luxury holiday property company Molori Private Retreats, which offers luxury properties in South Africa and Australia, and a fleet of private jets.
Why did you pick the Molori retreats?
My friend owns Molori and invited me there, and it is just somewhere in the middle of nowhere which is amazing and is somewhere to go and see wildlife – which is one of my interests – and just get away from everything in complete privacy.
What's it like being on one of their retreats?
Just great; it’s totally your time to do whatever you like and be surrounded by miles of nothing but wildlife and nature. It’s the perfect getaway for me. There is so much to do it’s entirely up to you – helicopter rides, every spa treatment you can think of, eating whatever you like and so many other things. Obviously going out looking for animals is my favorite thing to do, and Greg, who works there, is one of the best trackers in the world.
If you could create your own retreat what would it be like?
I would be interested in setting up something like this in different areas of Africa. There are so many possibilities I wouldn’t know where to start.
