Forget talking - today on Good Things, we get to write with the animals

Learning your A-Z has always been synonymous with object and animal associations. Many a designer has created an animal font or alphabet, so here we look at some classics cut with a few sillier versions.

In 1968 Spanish designer Cruz Novillo wanted to make something which would bring good design into daily life. So he designed a set of matchboxes, featuring an animal alphabet. They were sold cheaply and brought joy to many. See them all here.

We all remember the free gifts that banks gave us as children. In Sweden in the early 60s, The Savings Bank gave children little stamp collecting books, into which they stuck a nicely illustrated animal alphabet.

Everyone needs a balloon animal font in their life. Luckily KotenHits have created one. Not stopping at the usual poodle you can get the animal App to write whatever you wish. And for the singleminded cat lovers out there, NekoFont have your dream font here.
