If you can’t say it on Valentine’s Day, when can you say it? It is a day to fire Cupid’s arrows and celebrate love in all its unusual shapes and forms. To mark the occasion, AnOther asked four model couples about their relationships, from first glance to last laugh, and Barbara Anastacio took their pictures.
John and Carlos (above)
How long have you been dating?
More than two years.
Where did you meet?
We met at a casting agency.
What first attracted you to one another?
First thoughts were mutually: “He’s cute and smart but kind of annoying... That’s hot.”
What was the last gift you gave each other?
John: I gave Carlos some Britney Spears merchandise and he gave me a book of Warhol Polaroids.
When was the last time you made one another laugh?
Watching My Cat From Hell.
Anais and Daniel
How long have you been dating?
We have been dating for over two years.
Where did you meet?
We met in Paris – so romantic!
What first attracted you to one another?
Anais: I thought he was really cute and his accent was adorable.
Daniel: She was so gorgeous and sweet and once we kissed I knew she was the one!
What was the last gift you gave one another?
Anais: He gave me this beautiful antique ring for Christmas.
Daniel: She gave me a beautiful jacket.
When was the last time you made one another laugh?
We make each other laugh every single day. We’re having lots of fun together.
Alayah and Lucas
How long have you been dating?
We have been dating now for seven months.
Where did you meet?
The owner of my agency introduced us.
What first attracted you to one another?
Lucas: Her eyes are what attracted me, and her lips. I thought, this girl is cute and I want to get to know her.
Alayah: His accent first attracted me because I honestly didn’t understand a word he was saying and I thought his accent was sexy. My first thoughts were, he is really cute and adorable.
What was the last gift you gave each other?
Lucas: I bought her a coat for Christmas.
Alayah: I bought him this jacket and a shirt from Zara.
When was the last time you made one another laugh?
Lucas: I made her laugh today.
Alayah: I make him laugh every day.
Kelsey and Myles
How long have you been dating?
Almost three and a half years.
Where did you meet?
At work in Philadelphia technically, but we didn’t really talk until the train ride back.
What first attracted you to one another?
Miles: The first thing that attracted me to Kelsey was her sassy attitude. I was intrigued and the chase began.
Kelsey: The whole day we were working together he was so quiet with his usual scowl on that I thought he was foreign. Once he opened his mouth though I was a goner. Haven’t stopped smiling since.
What was the last gift you gave each other?
Miles gave me an awesome record player for my birthday and I bought him a ticket to Florida for the holidays.
When was the last time you made one another laugh?
Miles: Constant laughter.
Kelsey: Just now as we schemed the most ridiculous answers to these questions.
