Babel at Sadler’s Wells, London – Monday May 18 and Tuesday May 19

Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui rounds off his trilogy with final instalment Babel. As with the project’s first two works, Antony Gormley has collaborated on the stage design. The piece, which explores ethnicity and identity, is showing for two nights only at Sadler’s Wells.

 Leigh Ledare at Pilar Corrias, London – Until Saturday June 5

Ledare’s latest exhibition, The Confectioner’s Confectioner, is an uncomfortable exploration of identity and how we construct an idea of the subject in art. Featuring intimate portraiture of his mother, Pilar Corrias is host to this extraordinary show.

Zhang Huan’s solo exhibition at Pace Beijing shows a range of the diverse artist’s sculptures and paintings, which are largely devoted to wildlife scenes. The show opens on Thursday.

Cinema Against AIDS 2010 at the  Cannes Film Festival, Cannes – Thusday May 20

The 17th Cinema Against AIDS takes place this week in Cannes. Featuring a cocktail reception, dinner and live auction, the black-tie event boasts an A-list board including Giorgio Armani, Carine Roitfeld, Harvey Weinstein and Sharon Stone. Chaired by Alan Cumming, there will also be a special performance by Mary J Blige.
