Today we premiere the first of AnOther’s daily fashion week updates, courtesy of AnOther's Fashion Director Katie Shillingford. In the coming days, Katie will be reporting directly from the Milan and Paris S/S13 shows, listing her favourite items from the shows, as well as key beauty trends, the most interesting venues, the models to watch and the best music. Here is her overview from day two in Milan, including oriental inspiration from Prada, creamy pastels at Emporio Armani and 70s accessories at Gucci.
Shoe – The Prada Geisha stacked shoe worn with leather tabi socks and satin bows.
Model – Vanessa Axente is one of my top girls of the season.
Hair – A Japanese-style slick, precise bun with a centre parting at the front – very sharp and glamorous, continuing the Asian trend that keeps cropping up.
Make Up – The creamy, pastelly tones of Emporio Armani – inspired by the new accessories collection.
"Model – Vanessa Axente is one of my top girls of the season."
Venue – The concrete shell of Prada's via Fogazzaro is always transformed into something new each season. This time the black columns and black runway worked to complete the asian minimalism aesthetic.
Jewellery – Bvlgari snake bracelets.
Bag – Emporio Armani Bucket bag in pastel two tones of flesh, grey, pistachio and peach.
Sunglasses – Clear coloured 70s style sunglasses at Gucci – the whole collection evoked Priscilla Presley.
Detail – Kimono fabrics at Prada and flamenco bell sleeves at Gucci.
Music – French vocal with 80s synth at Prada.
