In our third preview of AnOther Man, we she a special edit of images shot by Scott Treleaven and styled by Alister Mackie

Scott Treleaven came to photography from film, through the theatre and illustration. His guiding approach is to make room for part control and part serendipity, which is one of the reasons Alister Mackie was intrigued to work on a fashion story with him for the next issue of AnOther Man. Here we show a special preview of the story to come in the magazine and Scott takes us back to the day of the shoot.

Scott Treleaven: The space we shot in looked like a tube station,or an old school house. It was very unusual and a really nice combination of modern and functional studio with these old beams and rafters. It was an environment that created an unusual dynamic to work in. I used a lot of natural lighting – the way it was shot was to light it like a film set and then wander around it and position people within it, because what I wanted to get out of it wasn’t set. In that way, it wasn’t a straightforward, photo shoot where the lights are all stationary and the models move around; the models basically stood in one place, and I moved around them. Even though Alistair wanted me to come in and do what I tend to do with my artwork, I was really interested in playing with the idioms of the fashion shoot as well – I really wanted to go and do what they do, so to speak, engage in a world or environment that I don’t work in.
