Who? Dover Street Market, Rei Kawakubo's Mayfair department store hosts an in-store party in celebration of Frieze Art Fair, opening tomorrow.

What? Art and fashion collide in a series of events and installations stretching six floors. A hut designed by Rei Kuwakubo will take over the ground floor, presenting installations in association with French-Brazillian artistic duo, Assume Vivid Astro Focus, who have a longstanding relationship with Comme des Garçons, designing artwork for advertisements and DSM mailers. Upstairs will be infused by the new Rick Owens perfume, and the third floor will boast a display of Bullet sculptures designed by New York-based ceramicist James Salaiz, who combines the austerity of war against the peace and fragility of ceramics. “In ceramics you create, but in warfare you destroy. These bullets are my commentary on the dissonance of the two worlds", the artist explains.

Why? Open House continues Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market's ongoing partnership with the art world and a succession of popular in-store events. As well as unique installations, the event will also include a book signing by Carine Roitfield in celebration of her latest book, Irreverent, a screening of Stuart Pitken’s new super 8 movie, The Pattern Mill and the opportunity to build your very own custom-made pair of Dr Martens shoes. Complimentary sweet treats will be on offer by the Rose Bakery.

If you miss the chance to catch Open House on Thursday October 13, celebrations will continue for the rest of the month.
