Craig Lawrence Fashion Film

Opting for a fashion film presentation over catwalk show for his collection, Craig Lawrence worked with photographer Mel Bles to create a moving sartorial performance. Stylist Katie Shillingford takes us behind-the-scenes.

Katie Shillingford: Craig's knitwear lends itself really well to fashion film as it's so important to see how the fabrics move and create shapes especially with the more bold silhouettes. The collection was all gold this season and when we first talked about the film I really wanted to do something which was dark, raw and mysterious. Mel went out into the woods before the shoot which evoked the mood of the story and these images were later incorporated into the edit. Anastasia has been my favourite girl this season so we were thrilled to get her involved in the project. I'd shot her before and she's an incredible mover - she used to be a ballerina and has an incredible awareness of her body and how to move it.
