This season, Emma Cook showed a darker collection: “there is a lot of print, but it’s more gothic and all black and white. It’s inspired by Seventies fantasy art with lots of nocturnal animals like owls, bats and unicorns.” And as part of the British Fashion Council’s first digital schedule, she chose film over runway to present it because “you can concentrate on the clothes as clothes.” Cathy Edwards who has been styling the shows since Emma’s first collection in 2000 adds, “ With film, you can streamline the idea and how the end product looks. When you do a show, you let the collection go out and then it’s gone: you never see it from the outside, as a viewer, like you can with film.”
