For his first show with Fashion East for A/W10, Nasir Mazhar has been taking inspiration from “Jamaican dancehall queens and their extremities in everyday life.” Be it the afro combs or the “magical” bottle of styling lotion he picked up in Dalston, he is inspired and has been for the last two seasons by black music culture. He admits that his approach to what he makes is selfish: “its not seasonal, its just whatever I’m into.” However, for Mazhar its “not just about making spectacular hats, the hats tell a narrative” and as he insists, he is an image maker.
