A veritable cavalcade of artists, entertainers and culinary delights will descend on Shoreditch this Sunday, when the Art Car Boot Fair returns to the Old Truman Brewery for its seventh year. Eschewing the staid conventions of most art fairs, the event sees some of the brightest stars in the British art firmament roll up in their cars to sell their wares, including Sir Peter Blake, Bob and Roberta Smith and Ryan Mosley.

The day is a gloriously eccentric celebration of the particular brand of British style that flourishes in the local area, bringing together many of the YBAs such as Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin, as well as key cultural figures from art and fashion who came to prominence around the same time. These include exclusive prints from Hirst's fellow White Cube represented artists the Chapman Brothers and signed hens' eggs from Gavin Turk. Sara Stockbridge, enduring Vivienne Westwood muse and epitome of roughed-up royal chic, shall turn herself into a human snow shaker, and to complete the array of novelties, Mat Collishaw and American artist Matthew Barney are among those who have contributed designs for tax disc holders.

Providing a particularly east London flavour to the event will be iconic eatery St. John Bread and Wine, long the favoured hang out for the offal starved intelligentsia and more recently working to satisfy carb cravings with their new Bermondsey bakery. They shall be serving up a hearty combination of Ox Heart buns and custard doughnuts to the crowd.

The Art Car Boot Fair takes place on Sunday June 19 at the Old Truman Brewery, east London.
