The brand’s latest collection will be shown through a seven-part film series, and will star Harry Styles, Florence Welch and Billie Eilish

Gucci’s upcoming collection, OUVERTURE of Something that Never Ended, is set to be unveiled later this month. However, in an innovative new twist, creative director Alessandro Michele has announced his plans to present it through an eponymous seven-part mini-series.

The short films will be co-directed by Gus Van Sant, the cult visionary behind Drugstore Cowboy and My Own Private Idaho. They will each centre around the actress Silvia Calderoni as she goes about her “daily routine” in Rome, encountering a dazzling array of international talents. This includes Harry Styles, Arlo Parks, Florence Welch and Billie Eilish, among others.

Michele will be directing the genre-blending series with Van Sant, and will be premiering it during “GucciFest” – a wider digital festival which celebrates the works of 15 independent young designers, including Ahluwalia, Stefan Cooke, Mowalola and Bianca Saunders. These emerging talents were all selected by Michele earlier this year, and will be revealing their work through an accompanying series of fashion films.

GucciFest will run between 16-22 November, with an episode of OUVERTURE of Something that Never Ended being uncovered each day. The full festival will be broadcast on YouTube, as well as on its own dedicated site GucciFest.com.

The full GucciFest will be broadcast from 16 to 22 November on YouTube Fashion, Weibo, Gucci YouTube and embedded on the dedicated site Guccifest.com. The complete program of the GucciFest week will be available from 13 November 2020.
