The London-based boutique’s latest ‘Nomad’ store arrives in Berlin next week, encompassing a three-day program of performance, parties, panel talks and exclusive products

The latest iteration of Browns’ ‘Nomad’ project – whereby an outpost of the British boutique temporarily ‘pops up’ in a city outside of London – arrives in Berlin next week. Taking over a disused supermarket’s in the city’s Mitte district, the three-day event will encompass performance, parties, panel talks and a ‘multi-sensory’ shopping experience, with the focus of engaging and working alongside the local community, immersing them in the Browns world (as such, Browns Nomad Berlin is hosted alongside multidisciplinary Berlin-based communication agency Reference Studios).

A night of music begins proceedings – British musician IAMDDB, who has garnered attention for what she calls ‘urban jazz’, an electric, wordplay-filled hybrid of trap, jazz and Afro-soul (“vulnerability, positivity and raising people’s vibrations... So long as we’ve got that, everything else that comes along will be honest and pure,” she told AnOthermag.com’s assistant editor Belle Hutton in the most recent issue of AnOther), will be followed by DJ sets by Juliana Huxtable and Berlin-based DJ collective No Shade, who also provide a network and training programme for female, trans and non-binary DJs in the city.

Night two will see a collaborative performance between dancer Vinson Fraley Jr and industrial artists OrtaMiklos – Faley Jr will dance within an immersive in situ sculpture by the duo, in place for the Nomad store’s three-day opening; the Mitte space will also play host to talks (participants include Berlin-based fashion label GmbH, Browns chief executive Holli Rogers and British designer Priya Ahluwalia, among others), bespoke experiences by tattoo artist Louis Loveless and palm reader Truth And/Or Consequences, and one-on-one private shopping. A curated selection of products will include capsules from Low Classic, R13 and Chinatown Market, a Conscious edit highlighting the work of designers like Ahluwalia, Duran Lantink and Mariah Esa, while several other designers – Aleksandre Akhalkatsishvili and Paria Farzaneh among them – will be available for the first time in Germany (rails will be repurposed from Browns’ previous in-store projects).

“Together with Reference Studios, we have designed an incredibly dynamic programme of experiences for the next Browns Nomad in Berlin, carefully considering how we can combine creativity, community and culture into an engaging multisensory environment,” says Tyler Psarras, Browns’ brand engagement director. “With a fusion of art, music, movement, fashion and conversation, our aim has been to mix next generation talent within a luxury arena to evoke the truly creative and expressive spirit of Berlin and its community and merge it seamlessly with the Browns universe.”
