The sartorial command of a statement earring should never be underestimated. For those with pierced ears – or even those without who are brave enough to don lobe-numbing clip-ons – accessorising with sculptural facial trinkets can elevate any ensemble. The minimalism of blue jeans and a simple pinstripe shirt could feel stuffy rather than sexy, but morphs into something else entirely upon adding a pair of head-turning earrings.
The way in which these earrings cause such a stir amongst friends, colleagues, and it must be said, strangers on the street, is twofold: due to a close proximity to the mouth, it’s impossible for others to do anything else but listen to what you have to say. Also, as often is the case, the jewellery itself can be audible in nature, creating sounds from a subtle chinking to a perceptible click clacking. For those who dare to take on this aural trend, look no further than our ultimate guide.
