New York-based duo Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez formed Proenza Schouler in 2002, using their mother’s maiden names to create their designer name. Once again, a maternal influence inspires their work. The sculpture Mother as Mountain by Anish Kapoor, an imposing red cocoon, cloak-like shape, forms a poignant backdrop to their A/W11 collection.
