AnOther Magazine and Dior celebrate the premiere of Luca Guadagnino's new film A Bigger Splash, with an exclusive screening and after party

The upcoming release of Luca Guadagnino’s seductive new film A Bigger Splash is set to make waves – so it’s only appropriate that a host of industry names marked its premiere in London last night, with an exclusive film screening and party hosted by AnOther Magazine and Dior.

On arrival, attendees including AnOther's incandescent coverstar Tilda Swinton, actress Lily McMenamy, director Luca Guadagnino and fashion industry icons Katie Grand, Katy England and Pam Hogg were greeted at The Curzon Mayfair by an elegant dove-grey carpet, lined with garlands of white orchids.

From The Curzon, guests proceeded to Mayfair’s legendary Annabel’s. The opulent club, with its plush velvet seating, walls lined with nude artworks and seductively lit nooks and corners, made for an appropriately luxuriant and sensual atmosphere – and thus the ideal after party venue. Waiters weaved amongst the rooms and guests serving canapés such as tuna tartare and tagine of lamb with rose petals and pomegranate – suitably Mediterranean dishes considering the location of the movie itself, which was filmed on the idyllic Italian island of Pantelleria.

Revellers including Marina Abramović and Olympia Campbell also enjoyed suitably Italian-influenced cocktails: from the ‘A Bigger Martini’, which paired vodka and dry vermouth with Sicilian olives, to the ‘Splashing Shot’, which featured vodka, fresh lemon, artisanal liqueur St Germain accessorised with a garnish of fresh raspberries. DJ sets from Rhys Webb from The Horrors, Yasmina Dexter (AKA Pandora’s Jukebox) and Fat Tony ensured that guests danced to the early hours, for a party that brought cinematic glamour to an iconic London basement: the most fitting way to celebrate A Bigger Splash in style.
