Another Man A/W15

The new issue of Another Man journeys into a wondrous world of exotic characters, elegant menswear and exquisite curiosities – starring Cillian Murphy, Arca, Akihiro Miwa, Harland Miller and more

"This issue is bigger and better than ever. There are four really strong, special-edition covers and the addition of the document is very exciting." – Alister Mackie, Creative Director

"Opening our Autumn/Winter 2015 issue is like entering a cabinet of curiosities. Filled with luxurious clothes, striking personalities and beautiful objects, it's a grand tour of the whole season." – Ben Cobb, Editor-in-Chief

Cillian Murphy – star of The Dark Knight, Peaky Blinders and, this December, In the Heart of the Sea, an epic drama based on the legend of Moby-Dick – appears on two spellbinding covers photographed by Willy Vanderperre and styled by Another Man’s creative director Alister Mackie. In the accompanying interview, author and obsessive whale-expert Philip Hoare takes the actor on a journey deep inside the mythology of Moby-Dick.

Willy Vanderperre and Alister Mackie team up again for this season’s second cover star: the genre-defying, gender-blurring pop artist and producer Arca. Alongside his wild performance for the camera, Arca invites Dazed’s editor-in-chief Isabella Burley into his home to rifle through his wardrobe and crazed imagination.

For the fourth and final cover, photographer Julia Hetta and Mackie collaborate on an exclusive preview shoot of Spring/Summer 2016 menswear.

Inside the issue, casting super-agent Nina Gold (The Imitation Game, The Theory of Everything and Game of Thrones) curates a portfolio of young acting talent, photographed by Venetia Scott; in a rare interview, atomic bomb survivor and Japan’s most famous drag queen Akihiro Miwa shares his life lessons; Leigh Bowery and Charles Darwin come together for an ‘Impossible Conversation’; and Another Man’s cultural archaeologist Tim Blanks discovers the forgotten photographs of a man called Smiler.

Plus: Nick Knight and Katy England’s Givenchy Special; the Autumn/Winter 2015 collections in two volumes and Archive, a new 32-page document of counterculture curiosities, arcane oddities and extraordinary exotica from around the world, and beyond.
