For the second installment of our daily update from Milan, AnOther Magazine's Fashion Director Katie Shillingford gives her highlights from Saturday's shows...
AnOther's round up from day three in Milan comes courtesy of Fashion Director Katie Shillingford, whose highlights include the sleek hair at Jil Sander, flower adorned Prada sunglasses and Robert De Niro's dulcet tones intermingling with the beat at Bottega Veneta.
Model – Kasia Struss – also the star of AnOther's exclusive model film – who I caught up with in the bathroom at Emilio Pucci. She's such a lovely girl who in my opinion just gets better and better every season.
Hair – At Jil Sander hair was super straight and shiny, tied in a low ponytail almost at the end of the hair. It looked as if all the girls had just had a fresh haircut – not a split end in site as a hard blunt cut formed the end of each pony.
Venue – The Jil Sander venue was the same as usual but the catwalk had a unique twist this season. The girls walked out around the edge of a stark white square catwalk but when it came to the finale they walked in a diagonal which revealed a dip in the catwalk. It looked like an optical illusion – painted on the surface of the catwalk but as soon as the girls walked across we realised it was the set – a nice little minimal twist from Jil Sander.
Make Up – The stick on coloured geomentric lines on the eyelids at Fendi made eyes pop out.
Bag – Fendi's clusters of cube bags in fresh colours.
Make Up – "The stick on coloured geomentric lines on the eyelids at Fendi made eyes pop out."
Sunglasses – We saw the Prada sunglasses up close at the re-see. Little black, red and white flowers adorn tortoiseshell. I can't wait to get a pair!
Detail – Ralph Lauren. At the re-see the amazing hand crafted leather and lace from his Flamenco-esque collection was intricate and beautifully made. I loved the show even though I didn't see it in person but seeing the collection up close was really special.
Invite – The Antonio Marras biscuit in a box invite kept me going even though we didn't grab lunch until late in the afternoon. Plus the tea party scene of the show also offered huge slices of candy coloured sponge as we sat down at individual tables.
Music – I really enjoyed the music at Bottega Veneta. Robert De Niro's soothing and seductive voice as exerts from Taxi Driver were immersed within a beat- describing his obsession with Cybil Shepherd in 'that white dress'. I can't wait to watch that film again! Such great characters!
Front Row Guest – Sharon Stone at Fendi. Although I didn't actually see her, I felt her presence!
