In practice, these Prada gloves are a remarkably simple gesture to bring a sense of elegance and occasion to the everyday

With intentionally destroyed embroideries, scuffed-up shoes, shredded hems and variously effed-up degrees of preciosity, there was a fascinating subtext to the Autumn/Winter 2026 Prada show, of not treating your fashion with kid gloves. Which is ironic, given that credit goes to Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons for reviving exactly those, in spectacular style, for their Spring/Summer outing. The Prada gloves – opera length, in duchesse satin or leather, and proposed in a spectrum of colours – were there paired with everything from crinoline-skirted gabardine day-dresses to almost humdrum cotton drill uniform looks, the latter perhaps their most compelling appearance of all. They were inspired, in part, by accessories from Miuccia Prada’s own wardrobe, her distinct repertoire of personal style signifiers. They even clothe hands holding imagery that forms the brand’s latest advertising campaign, conceived by artist Anne Collier. Ever-influential, facsimiles have already cropped up in multiple collections this season: where Prada leads, others always follow. In practice, these Prada gloves are a remarkably simple gesture to bring a sense of elegance and occasion to the everyday. They also allow you to eschew hygiene concerns, and unconsciously cut down on your touchscreen time. Which is only a good thing. What more can I say? I’d buy them. Actually I already did, in pearl grey.

The Prada Long Gloves are available to buy in several colours in leather or duchesse satin now.
