As the saying goes: there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes. Japanese-Italian luxury outerwear brand Tatras makes good clothes to remedy bad weather. For its Autumn/Winter 2025 collection, the brand blends the charm of vintage sportswear with the structured elements of military garments and a touch of modernism. It’s a cold-weather wardrobe that combines functionality and style.
Taking its name from the mountain range that sits between Slovakia and Poland, Tatras was founded in Milan, Italy, by a Japanese designer in 2007. The A/W25 season is a play on the brand’s roots, melding Japanese minimalism and innovation with an Italian sensibility for luxuriousness and craftsmanship. Cropped bombers, anoraks and down jackets are rendered in natural tones of mist, pest brown, cobalt and soft neutrals and finished with matte and shine contrasts; trousers, gilets and hats are built from water repellent taffeta and detailed with chain and diamond quilting. Each piece is a testament to the brand’s commitment to technical innovation, creating fashion fit for both the city and out in nature.
Defined by curved volumes, sculptured silhouettes and technical fabrics, the collection imbues a sense of playfulness and sporty energy while reinterpreting the brand’s core philosophy – the harmony of function and beauty. Pieces from womenswear pair classic design with contemporary materials and details, achieving a balance of relaxed ease and polished elegance. Menswear sees cotton jackets and wool polos alongside nylon outerwear and technical trousers.

Shot by Julien Martinez Leclerc along the quiet lake shores of Italy, the campaign focuses on natural landscapes and the stillness that lies between city life and nature, illuminating the boundary where Tatras’ sense of the extraordinary meets reality. Featuring models Lucky Blue Smith and Iselin Steiro, the visuals unfold like a tranquil story – otherworldly, almost dreamlike.
Last month, Tatras hosted a party at Dover Street Market Paris in collaboration with Another Man. The occasion marked the opening of a new exhibition showcasing work from Another Man Volume II, Issue IV, including Paul Kooiker’s cover story, which saw Ian Svenonius wearing pieces from the A/W25 collection, styled by Ai Kamoshita. A crowd of familiar names from the worlds of fashion, photography and art were in attendance, including Adrian Joffe, MJ Harper, Giovanni Leonardo Bassan, Pieter Hugo, Marie Valognes, Julie Joubert and Mark Luckasavage. Downstairs, guests saw a special lineup of the A/W25 collection – an homage to nature, and to weathering the storm.
