Miuccia Prada’s interest in past styles is motivated by a fascination for lives lived. “It’s the life of people that interests me … jewels are part of a woman’s history,” she says

An address – and dress – of femininity was the big thrust of Miuccia Prada’s Autumn/Winter 2025 Miu Miu collection. Thrust being the operative word, given the emphatic, pneumatic brassieres that underpinned every look, transforming silhouettes from within. But the idea extended to accessories, too, traditional signifiers like shearling-fur stoles, dainty little hats and – indeed – delicate jewellery with a vintage bent, like this twisted metallic ribbon brooch. A key piece featured prominently across looks from thickly felted wool suits to clinging sweaters, this piece almost seems like a found object, its style referent to mid-20th century jewellery tropes. Miuccia Prada has often stated that her interest in past styles is motivated by a fascination for lives lived, the idea of experience expressed through the garments we wear. For her, that notion is particularly resonant within jewellery – Prada herself only wears antique jewellery, “because I like the stories attached to them,” she has said. “It’s the life of people that interests me … jewels are part of a woman’s history.”

The Miu Miu Metal Bow Brooch in metal is available now.
