Gucci heads to a London park with Celeste, Vanessa Kirby and Alexa Chung on a beautiful winter’s day for its latest campaign

In the age of Covid-19, parks have come to represent small, green spaces of relative freedom, namely because walking – and other forms of outdoor exercise – are of the very few things still permitted during a national lockdown. One such city oasis is the site of Gucci’s latest campaign, which sees the Italian house head to a London park on a crisp winter’s day and capture “a moment of personal peace” in nature.

Starring singer-songwriter Celeste, fashion designer, television personality and author Alexa Chung, and actor Vanessa Kirby – all adorned in fabulously vibrant outfits reminiscent of the 60s- and 70s – the Angelo Pennetta-shot campaign celebrates a handful of the house’s most-loved accessories.

Something of a look back at Gucci through the decades, the collection includes the GG Marmont soft leather matelassé bag; the Jackie 1961 (which was first presented to Jackie Kennedy by Gucci in the 60s), the Gucci Horsebit 1955, and the Dionysus Bag, a style first presented at the Autumn/Winter 2015 womenswear show.

“The spirit of the images celebrates the freedom to roam, to think, to reconnect,” says Gucci of the new campaign. “And the quietly poetic and romantic ideal of enjoying the winter in the park.”
