Popular folklore paints the magpie as a thief, drawn to glistening trinkets that capture and refract light. Though the truth is now questioned by scientific study, its name is still synonymous with an attraction to glitter. Here, as part of an ongoing series of seasonal edits themed on breeds of bird, taken from AnOther Magazine S/S20, Dazed’s deputy fashion editor Chloe Grace Press and photographer Matthieu Lavanchy capture the season’s most sparkling of accessories – from Bottega Veneta’s mirrorball pumps to Richard Quinn’s gleaming Swarovski-embroidered tights.
