The Dreamy Tropicality of Paul Smith’s S/S18 Collection

In this street-cast story shot on Zuma Beach, Malibu, Vava Ribeiro and Nell Kalonji reframe Paul Smith’s Hawaiian hedonism for AnOther Magazine S/S18

“Back in the 70s I used to buy a lot of vintage Hawaiian shirts from shops in New York and then bring them back to my shop in Nottingham. A lot of kids would come from Sheffield and Wigan to buy them,” explained Paul Smith backstage at his S/S18 show. And today, the youthful, Americana appeal of these prints is just as strong. Vava Ribeiro and Nell Kalonji revisit this louche look with the help of a motley crew of modern day beach dwellers.
