Coachella Festival at Ace Hotel & Swim Club, Palm Springs, April 13 – 22
The crème de la crème of festivals Coachella takes place this month over two weekends (April 13-15 and 20-22) in the sun kissed desert of California. When taking a break from the busy line-up, soak up the atmosphere at Palm Spring’s authentic Ace Hotel & Swim Club as they stage their annual Desert Gold 10-day event of live music, comedy and art. Enjoy the local, organic produce served at King’s Highway restaurant and house-made mixers concocted at The Amigo Room bar.

The Big Egg Hunt presented by Fabergé until April 8
Fabergé are celebrating Easter with The Big Egg Hunt, set to break the Guinness World Record for the most people participating in an egg hunt. Running until Easter weekend, hunters are invited to seek out 200 beautifully painted and decorated egg sculptures – including designs by Marc Quinn, Mary Katrantzou and Tommy Hilfiger – located all over central London. The lucky winner will be presented with The Fabergé Diamond Jubilee Egg and all other eggs are for sale and will be auctioned at a live event by Sotheyby’s and grand online auction. The Big Egg Hunt hopes to raise over £2million with proceeds going to the charities Elephant Family and Action for Children.

Comme des Garçons, White Drama at Cité de la Mode et du Design, April 13 – October 7
For S/S12 Rei Kawakubo offered up an entirely white collection for Comme des Garçons representing life’s defining moments: birth, marriage and death. Celebrated in AnOther's Object of Desire animation last month, the "White Drama" collection is being showcased at Cité de la Mode et du Design in Paris, France.

Cartier Takes Over the Concept Store at Selfridge’s London until April 29
Cartier takes residency at Selfridge’s Concept Store for the next month. The space, which is divided into three core areas, explores the brand’s heritage and famous diamonds (including those owned by the Royal Family, Grace Kelly and Barbara Hutton); High Jewellery pieces which features an exclusive display of the 1911 Oriental Tiara; and our favourite – the Bridal Bar where visitors can view and try on exquisite Cartier engagement rings.

Yves Saint Laurent: The Retrospective at The Denver Art Museum until July 8
Heralded for inventing the female tuxedo suit, Le Smoking, this exhibition spans 40 years of the influential French designer’s career and features a striking selection of 200 haute couture garments and numerous photographs, drawing and films.

Thomas Demand and Miuccia Prada team up for the 25th Kaldor Public Art Project in Sydney until April 22
Fusing art, fashion, fragrance, literature and architecture German artist Thomas Demand has teamed up with designer Miuccia Prada and About Schmidt author Louis Begley for the The Dailies: an installation taking over an entire floor at architect Harry Seidler’s distinctive mid-70s mushroom-shaped Commercial Travellers Association in Sydney's Martin Place. The Dailies is free and open to the public until 22 April 2012. A version of the show also runs at London’s Sprueth Magers from April 14 - May 31.

DLA Piper Series: Innocence and Experience – curated by Marianne Faithfull, April 22 – September 2
Renowned singer-songwriter and actress Marianne Faithfull is the latest co-curator in the DLA Piper Series at Tate Liverpool. The new display entitled Innocence and Experience reflects Faithfull’s longstanding interest in Romantic presentiments of darkness (Francis Bacon, Balthus, William Blake, Marlene Dumas and Lucian Freud) as well as drawing on significant personal moments, friendships and collaborators.

EDUN Pop-Up Shop at Le Bon Marche until April 30
April marks the arrival of cult ethical brand EDUN to the hallowed halls of Parisian department store Le Bon Marche. This pop-up space, which remains in situ until the end of the month, includes a vivid living wall of succulents set alongside imagery from the Beautiful Rebels ad campaign shot by Ryan McGinley. Inspired by the Garden of Eden, the display combines with EDUN's S/S12 array of african prints, vibrant florals and sharp sportswear to irresistable effect.

Pierre Le-Tan exhibition at the Dennis Severs House, Spitalfields from April 24 - 28
Renowned French illustrator Pierre Le-Tan’s watercolours will be exhibited in the Grade II listed Georgian house later this month as part of a collaboration with the launch of website East of Mayfair. The first in the series of special exhibitions, it is also the first presentation to be hosted in the house, which has been refurbished by Severs into a time capsule of 18th and 19th century London life and was once described by David Hockney as “one of the world’s greatest works of opera.”

Liberatum Hong Kong, April 27 – 29
After the success of Liberatum festivals all over the world, including Istancool in Istanbul, this year’s programme moves to Hong Kong and brings together a whole host of international cultural icons, creative leaders and acclaimed artists. In addition to the festival programme, Liberatum will also present “Just Tell the Truth” short films made by Mike Figgis featuring David Lynch, Marina Abramović, Jonas Mekas, Paul Auster, John Berger, Sir Peter Blake and Siri Hustvedt. Liberatum will also present a special showcase of legendary photographer’ Guy Bourdin’s work.
