These portraits are taken from the Spring/Summer 2026 issue of AnOther Magazine:

Our AnOther Thing I Wanted to Tell You … portrait portfolio has been at the front of this magazine since its birth. Over the last 25 years, we’ve featured figures in the hundreds whose talents span the spectrum of creativity across a panorama of culture. Patti Smith. Jennifer Lawrence. Luca Guadagnino. Lynne Ramsay. Rick Owens. Benny Safdie. Damson Idris. Wayne McGregor. Christian Lacroix. Tilda Swinton. Vivienne Westwood. Manolo Blahnik. Jake and Dinos Chapman. John Gray. Grayson Perry. Katharine Hamnett. Brilliance, unquantifiable.

When we approach these subjects, we ask that they select a specific ‘thing’ to discuss, something that has inspired them in their life and work – from person to project or place. An enduring love for Abba to Stephen King’s Carrie. No two have been the same.

To celebrate the magazine’s 25th anniversary, and that of the section, we’re excited to share its first cover, photographed and collaged by Mark Peckmezian, who is this time the creative behind this portfolio of talents. The designers behind Vaquera talk to George Pistachio about the future. “Growing up far from the industry, clothes were how we moved ourselves forward, how we accessed the selves we hoped might exist,” they explain. DJ and producer Jorkes tells writer Isobel Van Dyke about their partner, the artist Daniel Rajcsanyi. Choreographer Florentina Holzinger speaks to Isabelle Bucklow about the inimitable dancer Trixie Cordua.

Photographer Roe Ethridge discusses creative collaboration within his relationship with Violet Conroy – “There is no way these pictures exist without the two of us together … Lulu and I are turning into a little bit of a monster together.” Multilingual actor Megan Northam tells Alex Denney how music is a dialect that helps her build bridges to her characters. The artist Kandis Williams speaks to Emily Dinsdale about fairy tales and the exaggerations that have come with them for her as a Black woman. Nina Hoss tells Rose Dodd about Berlin’s Alter Garnisonfriedhof cemetery – “It’s like being among the dead and the living, and not in a grandiose or oppressive way, which is beautiful. I think that’s why everyone goes there again and again, and you often see the same faces.”

Musician Lyra Pramuk, sculptor and filmmaker Young-jun Tak, actor and musician Scarlett White, and artist Miles Greenberg are among the many creatives we feature in this issue, connected both by Peckmezian’s discerning eye and his subjects’ authenticity and passion. We will publish these profiles online over the coming weeks.

Thanks to all those who have featured over the last quarter-century, many of whom have returned in some capacity, and to the photographers, stylists and writers who have made the section possible.

These portraits feature in the Spring/Summer 2026 issue, marking 25 years of AnOther Magazine, on sale internationally on 12 March 2026.
