Cats rule the internet, and this week they've won the Loves vote too
Superseding even Kim Kardashian, cats are the undisputed rulers of the internet. There are approximately five billion cat videos on YouTube, ranging from the adorable and the musical, to the violent and the death defying. When it comes to the cyber battle of the pets, dogs come nowhere – judged by hits alone, the world cares only about the feline, a preference confirmed by the latest winner of the Loves vote – Peghah Maleknejad’s post of a cat perched on a scanner. One of the hundreds of submissions to the self-explanatory tumblr, The Cat Scan, this shot is a joyfully simple alternative view of the world’s favourite creature.

I am obsessed with animal paws, especially cats. Squeezing them brings me joy.
