Salvatore Ferragamo’s renown as a great innovator who revolutionised women’s shoes stretches back over 80 years. The Italian luxury brand that bears his name has revived the iconic shoes for Ferragamo’s Creations, in an ongoing collaboration with the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum in Florence, to produce a limited and numbered series that draws on this extraordinary archive of footwear, which comprises over 13,000 models.

Ferragamo's most star-studded 'Creations' range from Romantica, a suede pump with a stiletto heel and scalloped edges based on the type made for Marilyn Monroe, to the quite remarkable Rainbow, created in 1938 for Judy Garland. He was also shoemaker to the leading lights of the New York art scene. Patented in 1937, the Wedge – the first leather-lined cork wedge in the history of 20th century fashion – was created for Peggy Guggenheim, and Andy Warhol was known to favour the Salvatore design. He even wore a pair while he painted, a legend which has inspired the addition of subtle flecks of colour on the new model.

The line is exclusively available at a small number of selected Ferragamo boutiques (Florence, Capri, Milan, Paris, New York, Tokyo and Mexico City) and in multibrand stores such as 10 Corso Como (Milan and Seoul), Dover Street Market (London) and Coccodrillo (Antwerp).
