Who? Today marks the launch of a unique collaboration between Liberty London, celebrated British department store renowned for its iconic floral prints and Nike, US sportswear label famous for its Swoosh logo.

What? The result is the Liberty Track Spike, available in two versions of performance trainers, the Ja Fly design hot exclusively for AnOthermag.com by Sam Hofman, against a graphic backdrop created by set designer Anna Lomax.

Why? The Liberty and Nike alliance began in 2008 with the Liberty Dunk, where signature Liberty floral prints were applied to a retro baseball sneaker. With a focus on running, the new Liberty Track Spike features high-strength flywire which targets support and offers a dynamic fit, weighing in at a nimble 185 grams and a striking Mirabelle floral print. The minimal usage of materials continues our emphasis and commitment to sustainability,” explains Martin Lotti, global creative director for Nike, “from the one piece flyknit shoe to the pro-turbo speed suit made from recycled bottles.” Tested by some of the fastest sprinters in the world, the Liberty Spike features an aggressive spike plate with eight receptacles and risers.

The Ja Fly design featured above will makes its official sporting debut on the feet of British athlete Perri Shakes-Drayton, who will take part in the 400m hurdles on Sunday August 5. The Zoom Victory Elite, seen here, are on sale exclusively in Liberty priced £150.
