Who? Italian knitwear brand Aimo Richly
What? Today marks the first day of autumn – a time when days become shorter and we start to think about warmer clothes. Combining a love of simplicity, craftsmanship and sensuous luxury, the latest offering from Aimo Richly is a series of garments that provide both comfort and style while compromising on neither. Designer Alberto Incanuti’s mantra is ‘a knitwear collection that expresses a need for authenticity’, and with this in mind, ostentation is set by the wayside and the focus remains on exceptional materials – such as baby alpaca, angora, cashmere and extra-fine merino – specially treated in the production process to accentuate their trademark ultra-light, ultra-soft feel.
Why? Both the men and womenswear ranges are never short of innovation and interest – proportions are played with, ranging from the shrunken to the exaggerated; jumpers are worn upside down; there are dashes of leather detailing, new yarns and stitching techniques are subtly incorporated along seams and run through knits. Ultimately everything is seen through the inimitable prism of Italian sophistication, with a muted palette that steers away from seasonal trends, remaining on the side of the timelessly classic.
