With the hopeful theme of ‘On The Horizon’, Magnum and Aperture’s latest print sale explores the “fertile landscapes of possibility”

Twice a year, Magnum Photos holds it’s keenly anticipated week-long Square Print Sale, which offers photography enthusiasts a chance to buy a limited edition, museum-quality print by some of the world’s best image-makers for the accessible price of $100. This time, Magnum has teamed up with Aperture for a particularly beautiful and inspiring curation, which they have given the theme of On the Horizon

In reaction to the stillness and uncertainty of the lockdown era, the selection of 110 prints by artists and photographers from around the world explore the edges of photographic practice, push the boundaries of what we know, and embrace the unknown. “Horizons are where the finite meets the infinite; a site of endings and beginnings, anticipation and transformation,” says Magnum.

The sale features works by legendary names like Susan Meiselas, Justine Kurland, Daidō Moriyama, Mary Ellen Mark, Nan Goldin, Martin Parr, Joel Meyerowitz, Elliot Erwitt, Jim Goldberg, William Wegman, Sohrab Hura, Stephen Shore, Kahlik Allah, Alec Soth, and many more.

“These pictures are unafraid to turn against established rules, taking steps forward with fresh spirit,” says Magnum. “Together, the prints boast of the fertile landscapes of possibility, adaptation and invention as we approach our creative, personal, and societal horizons.”

On the Horizon: Magnum’s Square Print Sale runs from October 18 – 24, 2021. Signed and estate-stamped, museum-quality, 6x6” prints from over 100 artists will exceptionally be available for $100, for seven days only.
