Pictures for Elmhurst – the photography sale which raises money for Elmhurst Hospital Centre in Queens, New York – has just added 89 new photographers to its offering

Pictures for Elmhurst – the print sale started in New York earlier this month which is raising money for Elmhurst Hospital Centre in Queens – has added almost 90 new photographers to its already extensive and exciting roster. Some of the biggest names joining the project include cult filmmaker David Lynch and photographer Alec Soth. Each print in the sale is priced at $150, with proceeds going to Elmhurst, New York’s busiest hospital during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

Many of the photographers taking part in Pictures for Elmhurst have contributed to or been featured in the pages of AnOther Magazine, including Chris Rhodes, Carmen Winant, Mel Bles, Jamie Hawkesworth, Gareth McConnell, Jack Davison, Zoë Ghertner, Sam Rock, Tim Elkaim, Talia Chetrit, Tom Ordoyno, and Lena C. Emery.

The 187-strong sale – many of the photographs depict flowers and friends, indicative of things we are craving during isolation – is a chance to buy affordable photography by established artists, and help a hospital that has been overwhelmed since the outbreak of Covid-19 (Queens is New York’s hardest-hit borough). Printed and posted by Griffin Editions in Brooklyn once New York’s lockdown has lifted, the photographs will arrive as we start to emerge from isolation and move towards normality again – which, at the very least, is something to look forward to. Browse the photographs on Pictures for Elmhurst’s website until April 20, and see some highlights from AnOther Magazine contributors below.
