Dutch artist Melanie Bonajo's latest volume, Furniture Bondage culls her recent photo series which puts uniquely female subjects in precarious positions, encumbered with the objects of everyday life. Everything from house plants to an oscillating fan are bound to, balanced on and otherwise attached to women (often pretty humorously), subjugating them to the point where they lose any agency and are reduced to sculptural foundations.

Unlike her predecessor Araki, whose tied-up subjects more narrowly deal with issues of sexuality, Bonajo's shots explore the role material objects play in our life, appearing last year at the P P O W gallery in New York.

The book's 25 color and black-and-white images are accompanied by an essay from the artist titled "Floccinaucinihilipilification," which, in addition to once holding the title of longest English word, stands for the act of considering something trivial. Published by Kodoji Press, you can purchase the book online.
