Jamie Bochert at Haider Ackermann SS2011 Show Finale

—by Bryanboy.com / Thursday, June 17, 2010

Jamie Bochert at Haider Ackermann SS2011 Show Finale

The super talented (and, I must add, frighteningly thinner than usual) Jamie Bochert opened and serenaded the audience throughout Haider Ackermann's spring/summer 2011 show here in Florence.

It's almost 4AM so I'm gonna post the photos later. I have to say the palazzo has got to be one of the most glamorous and beautiful show venues I've been in my entire life.

Photos from Luisa Via Roma event, Pitti and Haider Ackermann coming up!

Got a Question for Roberto Cavalli?

—by Bryanboy.com / Saturday, May 1, 2010

Got a Question for Roberto CavalIi?

Italian designer Roberto Cavalli, who is celebrating forty years in business this year, arrived in Singapore last night via private jet.

Roberto Cavalli

I've been invited to meet him at his suite in our hotel later this afternoon.

Do you have a question for King Roberto? Ask away! I'll pick the 3 best questions and I'll ask him myself when I meet him.

Christian Lacroix CEO Nicolas Topiol's Notebook Case

Christian Lacroix CEO Nicolas Topiol's Notebook Case

And Lacroix lives on...

Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Nicolas Topiol, CEO of Christian Lacroix.

Christian Lacroix Papier

He showed me his leather notebook case by Christian Lacroix Papier, no less. I was impressed by the beautiful embossed details. I thought it was a passport holder, to be honest.

He also hinted about showing menswear either at Pitti in Florence or in Paris. I guess we'll find out soon.

American Vogue November 1988 - Micaela Bercu

—by Bryanboy.com / Tuesday, April 6, 2010

American Vogue November 1988

Speaking of number one, behold my latest acquisition: the November 1988 issue of American Vogue.

US Vogue November 1988 cover featuring Micaela Bercu

This is Anna Wintour's first issue as Editor-in-Chief of Vogue USA after replacing Grace Mirabella.

Micaela Bercu, in a Christian Lacroix haute couture jacket, was photographed by Peter Lindbergh who, as reported last month, is returning to the magazine after an eighteen-year hiatus. It's also the first time jeans appeared on the cover of the magazine.

I bought this (for $75 shipping included) on eBay after a crazy bidding war. I wasn't gonna let it go.

Trust me, every penny I've spent is worth this amazing piece of history.

Good Morning, New York

—by Bryanboy.com / Monday, February 8, 2010

Good Morning, New York

As most of you already know, I'm currently here in New York City. This beautiful winter scenery (view from my room at the Soho Grand hotel) is what greeted me earlier this morning when I woke up.

I apologize for the lack of updates. It's been a crazy week so far, especially with all the traveling, meetings, etc.

Expect more from me soon. Stay tuned!

New York, I Love You [movie trailer + dvd]

—by Bryanboy.com / Monday, January 25, 2010

New York, I Love You

Have you seen this movie? Between you and me, I don't remember this film being shown at the theaters last year. 2009 went soo fast.

From the makers of Paris, Je T'aime comes this film called New York, I love You starring Bradley Cooper, Natalie Portman, Blake Lively, Shia LaBeouf, Ethan Hawk, Christina Ricci and more.

I'm a sucker for chick flicks (it's the only thing I watch, really) so I bought the DVD online. Can't wait to get it in the mail.

New York, I Love You movie

Valentine's Day is just around the corner... less than 3 weeks, I think. Funny how it falls during fashion week.

I need a date. If not, well, I'll probably just this movie in my room.

Mohair Mania + Brodarte on the cheap!

—by Bryanboy.com / Monday, January 18, 2010

Mohair Mania + Brodarte on the cheap!

I'm sure you've heard of Rodarte's new menswear line (dubbed "BROdarte") that's currently being sold at Opening Ceremony. I'm a big fan of Kate and Laura Mulleavy's brilliant work but alas, the price points are, to put it quite simply, way too out of my reach. Unless I win the lottery, Rodarte's beautiful, hand-crafted sweaters at three thousand dollars apiece shall remain a fantasy to me.

Brodarte, Rodarte for men, Mohair Sweaters, Sex Pistols

Now here's something a little bit more real. If you want to give that knitted mohair sweater look a try, as previously sported by members of the Sex Pistols, today is your lucky day. I was browsing eBay and found these affordable mohair knits in different colour combinations. Each of these sweaters are forty five dollars a pop.

Quick public service announcement... I'm sure you've heard of the massive earthquake that hit Haiti yesterday. Thousands are feared dead and many, many people are left homeless.

Haiti Earthquake photo of injured people at Hotel Villa Creole in Port-au-Prince, Haiti

I'm gonna cut this post short and encourage you my dearest and kindest readers to donate ANY amount to go to much-needed relief efforts.

American Red Cross' International Response Fund [click here]UNICEF USA [click here]

Also, if you live in the USA, you may text YELE to 510 510 and donate $5 to go towards earthquake relief.

I'm donating a small amount. I hope you guys do, too.

That's all.
