On Friday July 29 at three o'clock, AnOther Contributing Fashion Editor and Dazed & Confused Fashion Editor Katie Shillingford married Alex Dromgoole in the 1930s Art Deco decadence of Eltham Palace, Greenwich. Built by the wealthy Courtauld family next to the remains of Eltham Palace, childhood home of Henry VIII, it provided the perfect backdrop to an equally enchanting wedding.

Whilst the guests included a who’s who of the fashion industry – representing the friendships Shillingford has formed through her prolific career – the bride was dressed by her best friend (whom she studied with at Central Saint Martins) and longtime collaborator Gareth Pugh in a striking pale grey slashed chiffon dress, complete with trail that hung from her shoulders. Masking the bride’s romantic make-up courtesy of Alex Box and pink waved hair by Alex Brownsell was a veil created by Stephen Jones. Shillingford was accompanied by bridesmaids Karen Langley, Nell Kalonji, Hanna Hanra and niece Tilly, all dressed in black striped knitted dresses by Craig Lawrence, bar Tilly who wore white.

With set design and decoration by Gary Card, Matthew Stone led the ceremony and Dominic Jones designed the rings. As day fell to night, Shillingford changed into a gold dress from Pugh’s A/W11 collection and A/W11 Miu Miu shoes and danced with her new husband and guests until the early hours.
