There are few things more pleasurable in life than acquiring an extraordinary item of clothing – one that has been designed and crafted with the utmost consideration. The Bottega Veneta woman, whose style philosophy is built upon an appreciation for understated excellence, remains loyal to the Italian label for precisely this reason. For Spring/Summer 2017 – which marks the 50th anniversary of the house – is most certainly in tune with her sybarite mindset. Hallmarks such as fine cashmere sweaters, fluid trousers, and air-soft leather shirtdresses all featured in the collection, in addition to the re-edition of the iconic red intrecciato clutch carried by Lauren Hutton in the 1980 film hit, American Gigolo. “As always, it’s what’s hidden that’s important,” said creative director Tomas Maier of the line. “I like making things simple but incredibly sophisticated. The hard work in their creation is invisible to the eye, but the result is a delight to wear.” We concur.
