Marc Jacobs' beloved bull terrier has penned his first tome – and it's every inch as fabulous as one might expect

Never has the old adage “it’s a dog’s life” felt more applicable than in the case of the fabulous bull terrier, Neville Jacobs. Should his lauded presence on Instagram, or within the pages of esteemed magazines such as Architectural Digest and Vogue have escaped you – here’s a brief history. Neville is the canine companion of fashion pioneer Marc Jacobs. In addition to being a beloved, immaculately groomed pet, Neville has become an intrinsic part of Marc’s eponymous label, going about his daily business at the lofty towers of Marc Jacobs HQ in New York. This – as his forthcoming tome entitled Neville Jacobs: I’m Marc’s Dog (Rizzoli), reveals – includes such duties as hobnobbing with supermodels, collaborating with the industry’s foremost creative luminaries, sampling some of the world’s most elegant custom-canine separates, and globe-trotting with his master in a private jet.

Fortunately, Neville approaches all of these tasks with the utmost dedication. His value is aptly stated by Marc in the touching foreword of the book, who writes – “to my beautiful Neville, who with every glance from those expressive little triangular eyes, every humanlike cuddly embrace, every spontaneous outburst of clownish silliness that makes me smile and laugh, calms me like nothing or no one ever has – and who fills my heart with the greatest happiness and joy, forever reminding me that pure goodness and true love really exist.”

Neville Jacobs: I’m Marc’s Dog is published by Rizzoli on September 20, 2016.
