This week's @anotherloves edit champions a 'more is more' mantra

This week has seen an influx of delectable details on the @anotherloves stream. From ruffles and sequins to finely speckled marble, here's our pick of five standout objects for your viewing pleasure.

Gingham is spring's pattern of choice, as evidenced by a number of the S/S16 collections, from Victoria Beckham to Céline and, perhaps most notably, Miu Miu. High on our list of most coveted checks is this frilled Miu Miu shirt, chosen by AnOther Lover Olivia Singer. "This whole collection was never-ending pervy, punk fabulousness," Singer explains. "But, much as I love the nylon negligees, I feel like I could wear this shirt every day indefinitely."

Most of us are well acquainted with Sofia Coppola's sun-drenched adaptation of Jeffrey Eugenides' celebrated novel The Virgin SuicidesWhat is not so widely publicised, however, is that the director also created a zine to accompany the film's launch, complete with an image gallery shot by the inimitable Corinne Day on set. "The Virgin Suicides is one of those films you want to inhabit – from the costumes to the cinematography to the Air soundtrack," says AnOther Lover Daisy Woodward of her choice. "So what could be better than a whole magazine dedicated to it, filled with interviews and extra photographs, and my personal favourite, 'Josh Harnett: Clove-Smoking Punk.'"

It came as little surprise to learn that American fashion designer Rachel Comey had first majored in sculpture before pursuing her career in fashion. Some of her most striking designs take the form of multi-faceted acrylic earrings, which double as miniature sculptures. This pair, in a creamy salmon pink shade, are the perfect example. “More than just daffodils and longer days, spring for me makes the beginning of a slow but determined break away from the restrictive clasp of a monochrome palette,” AnOther's assistant editor Maisie Skidmore expands,” and Rachel Comey’s sweet, solid blobs of sorbet-orange acrylic are as good a kickstarter as any to begin that process. Wish me luck!”

We've searched long and hard for a suitably sparkling dress in which to recreate Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg's matching glitterball moment, and finally we've found it: this sequined piece from Vetement's S/S16 collection, with a highneck and contrasting open back. Now, all we need is a sultry smoking counterpart and we're set.

The timeless appeal of marble homeware always wins the AnOther vote, from Studio Pepe's marvellous mirrors to Adam Hunter's sleek iPhone bases. Our latest stone-centric infatuation is this set of terrazzo serving platters by Belgian design studio Serax. Created by combining marble, quartz, granite, glass, or other suitable chips with a cementitious binder, terrazzo was originally conceived by Venetian construction workers as a low-cost flooring option. But there's nothing cheap about these sumptuously speckled plates, available in pale pink, grey and white.
