After Jacquemus' A/W15 show, we look back over the greatest fashion moments that disrupted reality

Ever since Elsa Schiaparelli collaborated with Salvador Dali to create her 1937 Lobster-printed dress, fashion and surrealism have been inexorably intertwined. A movement that grew out of radical Marxism and intended to disrupt bouregoise realities, it could easily be seen as at odds with the fashion industry and yet, from Man Ray to Delfina Delettrez it has played an important and consistent role in clothing design and its documentation through the 20th and 21st centuries.

For his A/W15 collection, Parisian designer and LVMH shortlister Simon Porte Jacquemus collaborated with artist Sebastian Bieniek for a collection that took inspiration from his unnerving 2013 Double-Faced series, both the show and the series literally giving the models double faces. A child of the ever-expanding Comme des Garçons family (he worked in their Paris store until 2013), Jacquemus' avant-garde approach to the season is one sure to make Rei proud and, in honour of the moment, we take a look back at some of our favourite fashion moments that have disrupted reality over the decades.
